How Shroomr makes money.
Last updated 21 August 2026.
How this site is funded
Shroomr is free to use. It's paid for by affiliate commission: product links point to retailers (mostly Amazon today) with a tag identifying us, and the retailer pays a small percentage of qualifying purchases.
You never pay more because of it. The price is the same as if you'd gone to Amazon directly.
As an Amazon Associate
As an Amazon Associate, Shroomr earns from qualifying purchases.
What that means for the advice
Commission creates an obvious temptation: recommend more gear, and pricier gear. A few things keep us honest:
- The wizard subtracts gear you already own instead of selling you a second one
- Cheaper methods are recommended when they suit you better, including the ones with the smallest shopping lists
- Costs are stated as honest ranges up front, including the parts people forget
- Every outbound product link is marked
sponsored nofollowin the page source, which is the same signal search engines see
Independence
No seller pays for placement here, and nothing is listed because a brand asked. If that ever changes, this page will say so.
