Drying & storage

Keep your harvest potent and safe with proper drying and storage.

Most potency loss happens after the harvest, not during the grow. Moisture, heat and light are what degrade psilocybin.

Drying

Air-dry first in front of a fan at room temperature until the caps are leathery, then finish with a desiccant until they are cracker-dry — a properly dried stem snaps cleanly rather than bending. Anything less and you are storing mould food.

Do not use heat above roughly 40°C. Ovens and food dehydrators on high settings cost you potency.

Storage

Airtight glass, in the dark, cool, with a desiccant sachet. Stored that way, dried material keeps most of its potency for a year or more; left in a warm bright room in a paper bag, it degrades noticeably within weeks.

Store anything you keep out of reach of children, pets and housemates who have not consented to having it around.

⚠️ 18+ only. Cultivation laws differ per country — in the Netherlands kits, spores and truffles are legal to sell, but dried psilocybin mushrooms are controlled. Always check your local rules. Not medical advice.
