Grow Kit — The plug-and-play start
A ready-made kit with fully colonized substrate. You add water, keep it warm and humid, and harvest. The best first grow: minimal gear, minimal risk, fast results.
About this method
A grow kit is a box of substrate that has already been colonized by mushroom mycelium in a sterile lab. All the hard, contamination-prone work is done for you — you just trigger fruiting conditions.
Kits are legally sold in the Netherlands. Expect your first flush within 1–2 weeks of starting, and 2–3 flushes total per kit.
Downsides: cost per gram is higher than DIY methods, and you learn less about the process. Great first step before moving to PF Tek or a monotub.
The process at a glance
- Unbox & soakFill the kit with water, soak 12 hours, then drain.
- Set up the bagPlace the kit in its grow bag with a little water in the bottom for humidity.
- Keep warm & bright20–25°C, indirect daylight. Use a heat mat if your room runs cold.
- Mist & air dailyMist the inside of the bag and fan fresh air in once or twice a day.
- HarvestPick just before the caps open, right when the veil tears. Repeat for the next flush.
